Mtre Lavergne holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Université Laval. He practised for nearly 30 years as a dentist, notably as a co-owner and practitioner in a private clinic. This experience allowed him to develop a thorough understanding of professional realities, practice standards, and ethical obligations governing professional orders.
Wishing to apply this expertise within a legal framework, he completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.L) at the University of Ottawa in 2024, graduating cum laude. Following his training at the École du Barreau, he completed his articling at DUCLOS Law Firm before being called to the Bar in March 2026.
As part of his civil law practice, Mtre Lavergne works in general civil law and focuses particularly on workplace disputes involving professionals governed by the Code of Professions. He is especially interested in matters relating to professional liability, professional unions, and disputes arising from the exercise of professions.
His unique background, at the intersection of clinical practice and law, allows him to offer a rigorous and nuanced analysis of cases, taking into account both the human, professional, and regulatory dimensions specific to professional orders.
